Now today, after having given another tool Techinline a trial run, I am impressed too how simple it is to use their tool to connect two parties all together.

Techinline remote desktop purely uses the web app to make the connection to each other. There is no client software that needs to be installed on either side to make it work, but add-ons, or extensions are still needed for browser to be able to launch the tool.

To get started, you will need to sign up a free account through their website. Techinline offers a 15-day free trial which should give you enough time to try things out. Once you log in and successfully get the add-on installed on your browser, you are ready to take the ride to make the connect.

Simply ask the other party go to fixme.it. Once the add-on was installed, they will be provided a Client ID.

Get that number and put in your session, and click Connect button. Bing, you are connected.

The process is deadly simple but the downside is that an appropriate add-on needs to be installed on the browser at the both side. Even though Techinline has made the process very easy to follow, I still had difficulty to install the add-on on my Internet Explorer, though both Firefox and Google Chrome were ok. Once both sides get connected, doing the remote control to provide the remote support could be a very enjoyable experience.

Other than offering a 15-day trial, Techinline doesn’t have a free service for non-commercial use. They offer two types of payment methods, either through monthly subscription, or buying sessions in bulk. Quite flexible in most cases.

Techinline also doesn’t have a mobile version for both iOS and Andriod devices but I hope it’s been considered and will catch up soon in the next version.
The post Techinline is another deadly simple remote support application first appeared on KC's Blog.

I was on the market looking for a remote support solution that is simple, reliable, and not expensive. I had considered GotoMyPC, WebEx, GotoMeeting, LogMeIn, etc. and found they are pretty much in the same way in terms of how to make it work, even the cost is pretty much in the same range. When I came across TeamViewer, I first didn’t quite get it how it works but once I get my hands on its portable version and try it in real, I am impressed how deadly simple it is to get it connected on both side.

TeamViewer offers a number of ways to get you hooked up with both sides of the parties but what I tried and found useful is its portable version, which can be run directly from a USB stick or a CD. Whenever you need an access to a remote computer, you can simply ask the other party download and run the TeamViewer Portable on their computer, which pops up a window with an unique ID and password under Wait for Session section at the left. Ask for that ID and put it in the Partner ID and hit Connect to Partner button. Bang, you and your other party are immediately connected, as soon as you enter in the password.

And the best part, it’s free for non-commercial use. The program doesn’t force you to purchase the license to be able to use it. Instead, it just pops up the message remaining you that you are using the free version that’s intently only for non-commercial use, and asking for a fair play, which is fair enough to me.

Even better, if you owns a smart phone powered by either Andriod or iOS, you can get the free TeamViewer app on your phone to go extreme mobile. Hack, it’s hard to find an application that doesn’t have the same version or equivalents on iPhone or Android phones, isn’t it?
The post TeamViewer is a deadly simple application for remote support first appeared on KC's Blog.
