MyAnalytics – What is it and How To Opt-Out of it?

In a nutshell, MyAnalytics is an Outlook add-in that helps you find opportunities to build better habits and get back in control of your time. It uses everyday data from Microsoft 365 to give you insights into how you spend your time.

If you wonder why all of sudden you are getting emails from Microsoft titled as MyAnalytics, it’s most likely because you clicked the Insights icon in your Outlook at one point.

It’s actually quite useful if you look a bit closer to the Insights pane that opens up. There are a variety of things you can check and tweak, maybe.

If you click the gear icon, you can get a few things to help you organize your day, such as lunch time, focus plan, etc.

It even has a MyAnalytics (microsoft.com) that provides you more insights about your work if you are interested. It’s also the place where you can opt-out of the service if you find it a bit too intrusive.

Once you sign into the MyAnalytics dashboard, click the gear at the top right corner and slide the switch off.

You can also leave the service on but turn off the notifications as well.

For admins who want to configure the settings at the tenant level.

Log in to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, go to Settings > Org Settings.

And then switch the options on and off as you need.

  1. nice, but all this does is turn off the emails. it doesn’t turn off the MS data collection of my users’ data.

    1. exactly. my business partners are interested in not being monitored, not just turning off emails.
