Email timestamp wrong on iPhone
This an email I just received on my iPhone, notice that the time at the top of the screen says it’s 2:07pm but email timestamp says differently 7:57pm. I am partially in the future now. Apparently, there is something terrible wrong at the moment somewhere.

Poking around through the phone settings, noticed that I have Date & Time set to automatically. And once it’s on, emails received today all have the timestamp like the one above.
So I just turned it off, and manually set the time zone to Vancouver, where I live, and the date time. And everything goes normal again.
Hope this little trick helps you if you run into the same kind issue. However, the reason why it all of sudden happened starting early this morning is still unknown at the moment.

This is an issue on both my, and my colleague’s iPhone emails starting this morning around 6am.
Attempted your fix, but then the main time setting on the phone switched!
ha..that happened on mine too. I had manually reset the time after I turned off the auto-timezone-sync.
The same thing happened to me starting a day or two ago. I’m also in Vancouver so I wonder if it’s something related to the Rogers network here. Thanks for posting the fix – it works, but I really prefer to be able to use Network time as it’s always accurate and changes when traveling and switching between daylights savings.
I hope Apple or Rogers will fix this.
Another case in Vancouver here…
This is happening to me as well but I live in NYC…I turned the auto date/time set but it didn’t fix it! any other suggestions? Interestingly, it seems to have started happening after I traveled out west for the holidays…
Who dis? This is the King y’all! The way to fix the phone is to run that piece through the wash 5 times. Your time stamp will be fixed after that.
I hate when this happens. Fortunately, I got a Palm Pre and this doesn’t happen anymore.
I can’t believe they deleted my post. I told you guys how to fix the time stamp.
Doing a full power down and back up fixed this for me. I’m on east coast and went to west coast and had the problem when I returned. I had powered down and up while on the west coast. Seems when in auto mode it uses the time zone that it got when it was last powered up.
This post is interesting.
